Watch: Jeremy Corbyn’s heartfelt pledge to Grenfell residents. Theresa May wouldn’t even speak to them
15 June 2017
Jeremy Corbyn visited Grenfell Tower today and met survivors of the devastating fire.
He spent a long time with residents, telling them:
“I will speak up for all of you. We have to get to the bottom of this. The truth has got to come out and it will.”

In the aftermath of the fire, with 17 people confirmed dead and the number set to rise, Corbyn is planning to challenge the government on fire safety laws and emergency services cuts in parliament.
Theresa May, by contrast, didn’t meet a single resident during her brief visit to the site, citing ‘security reasons’.
